Gemfest – Gem & Jewellery Show Centenary Heights High School, Ramsay St, Toowoomba Saturday, 24 October 2009 9 am – 5 pm Sunday, 25 October 2009 9 am – 3 pm.

Gemfest is oriented to the whole family. This visual spectacle shows Mother Nature’s handiwork at its best, displaying fossils, minerals, gemstones (cut and uncut). Remember, as kids, we’d love to pick up rocks and coloured stones and pop them in our pockets or squirrel them away in a bedroom drawer. We are trying to encourage parents to let ‘kids of all ages’ continue in this healthy recreational hobby.

Very personalised and unique pieces of jewellery can be created by choosing from a wide range of already faceted stones and complimenting it with the perfect ring, pendant or earring setting.

Since 1981, the Toowoomba Lapidary Club has hosted this annual gem and jewellery show, called Gemfest, for Toowoomba and surrounding districts.

Collectively valued at over $3 million, all items are for sale. See the beauty of Mother Nature’s handiwork. Lots of crystal and mineral specimens from around the world. Carvings from precious and semi-precious stones.

Around 30 gem dealers/traders come from Central Queensland in the north, to Melbourne in the south and put together this two-day spectacle. People come from as far away as Hervey Bay and Tamworth to see and buy at our gem & jewellery show.

Many opal miners take advantage of the outdoor sun to enhance the kaleidoscope of rainbow colours. Gemfest has a friendly community and family-oriented atmosphere. This event is for the whole family.

The Gemfest raffle: Tickets are $1.00 each and on sale at the hall.

Great gift ideas! All are welcome. Come and all your Chrismas shopping!
